What Is League of Legends?

   League of Legends is a MOBA game that developed and published by Riot Games in 2009. League of Legends’ map inspired from Dota’s map. Early on the League of Legends, the lead designer of the game was Steve Feak, who also designed the Dota's map. League of Legends is a game where 2 teams of 5 each fight on a single map. The goal of the game is to destroy the opposing team's main tower. The team that destroys other team’s main tower wins.

   In League of Legends, every player choose different champion, and every champion has unique abilities. Every champion collects gold for buying items that increase their power. Each champion has 4 different abilities as standard, and it is important to kill the champions of the enemy team by using these abilities at the right time.

How To Play League of Legends

   Like we said, League of Legends is a game where 2 teams of 5 each fight on a single map. Players choose the champion among nearly 170 champions for themselves and their goal is eliminating their opponents, enemy minions and towers for victory.

   Main tower, which name is Nexus, summons minions, and Each team has it. If you destroy nexus, you win the game directly. You can earn gold by killing minions, jungle camps and enemies. You can buy items that make you stronger in game by using these gold. In order to buy items, you have to go base and click the NPC. Also, League of Legends has 2 different level systems, in-game level and general. Your level in the game allows you to unlock your character's abilities, and your level throughout the game increases as you play. Champions

League of Legends has 178 champions for now and every champion has unique abilities. There are several classes in the game, these classes are;

  • Tank
  • Mage
  • Assassin
  • Controller
  • Marksman
  • Slayer
  • Fighter

And each champion belongs to one of these classes.

Minions

   Minions are the simplest units of the game and their only purpose is attack the enemies. There are four type of minions, these are; Melee Minions, Ranged minions, Cannon minions and Super minions.

Towers

   There are eleven towers in the game. Two towers for each corridor, one for inhibitor and two for nexus. Towers have lot of health because losing towers means losing game. Also destroying towers gives gold.

Maps

   There are three different types of map in the game.

Summoners Rift

   Summoners Rift, which most played map, is the League of Legends’ main map. Teams are split into two, blue and red. Each team has five players and three corridors (Top, Middle, and Bottom) and each corridor has three towers and one inhibitor. Towers help player to defense the nexus. Destroying inhibitors increases the strength of the minions for the destroyer team. When inhibitor destroyed, a Super minion spawns for the destroyer team. If all the inhibitor destroyed, the count of the super minions increases one. The team that destroys other team’s nexus wins.

   6-7 minions come from 3 corridors on the map at certain times and each team gains money and experience by killing minions. Try to defense your tower and damage enemy tower as much as you can. You can also kill the jungle camps for extra Gold and XP.

Twisted Treeline

   This map is similar to Summoner's Rift map. Teams are split into two, blue and red. Difference is each team has three players and two corridors (Top and Bottom). Each corridor has two towers and one inhibitor. Minions come from corridors on the map at certain times each team gains money and experience by killing minions. Each team has nexus and towers that protecting nexus. The team that destroys other team’s nexus wins.

This map removed on 2019

Howling Abyss

   This map is playable only on ARAM. Teams are split into two, blue and red and there is no back to base. There is only one corridor. Every player begins at level 3 with 1,700 gold in this map. Each corridor has two towers and one inhibitor.

What is League of Legends RP (Riot Points)

   League of Legends Riot Points allows shopping from the in-game store. League of Legends players buy mostly cosmetic items such as new skins with these points. These skins doesn’t affect the damage or anything else, skins is only for cosmetic, so this means League of Legends isn’t Pay To Win game.

  • Open the League of Legends Launcher
  • Go to the “Shop” menu
  • Click on “Purchase RP" and choose your preferred transaction method from the left-hand menu.
