FiveM Terminology

As with any game, FiveM has its own unique terminology and gameplay elements that can be confusing for newcomers. In this guide, we will provide a detailed explanation of some of the most common FiveM terms and gameplay mechanics.

RP: Roleplay

Roleplay is the cornerstone of FiveM. It is the act of playing a character in a fictional world, where the player interacts with other players and the game environment as if they were that character. Players create their own character and backstory, which they can develop throughout their time playing on the server. RP is the foundation of all FiveM gameplay.

Bug Abuse

Bug abuse refers to using glitches or bugs in the game to gain an unfair advantage over other players. This can include using exploits to duplicate items or gain access to areas that would not normally be accessible. Bug abuse is against the rules in most FiveM servers and can result in a ban.

Non-RP

Non-RP refers to behavior that is not consistent with the roleplaying environment. This can include breaking character, talking out of character, or not adhering to the game's lore. Non-RP behavior can disrupt the gameplay experience for other players and is generally frowned upon.

Deathmatching (DM)

Deathmatching is the act of hurting or killing another player's character for no reason. This can include randomly attacking other players in the game world or engaging in PvP combat without a valid reason. DM is generally not allowed in most FiveM servers.

Revenge Kill (RK)

Revenge killing occurs when a player respawns and seeks revenge on another player who killed them previously. This is not allowed in most FiveM servers and is considered poor sportsmanship.

Car Surfing

Car surfing is the act of standing on top of a moving vehicle. This can be dangerous and can result in the player falling off and taking damage. While car surfing can be a fun way to travel around the game world, it is generally discouraged in most FiveM servers.

Car Ramming

Car ramming is the act of intentionally crashing into other players or vehicles with a vehicle. This is not allowed in most FiveM servers and is considered poor sportsmanship.

Ninja Jacking (NJ)

Ninja jacking refers to stealing a vehicle without any roleplaying or justification. This can include stealing parked vehicles or stealing vehicles from other players. NJ is generally not allowed in most FiveM servers.

Refuse Roleplay

Refusing to roleplay is the act of refusing to participate in the roleplaying environment. This can include ignoring other players' actions or refusing to interact with other players in a meaningful way. Refusing to roleplay is not allowed in most FiveM servers.

Copbait

Copbait is the act of taunting or provoking the police in the game world. This can include performing dangerous stunts in front of police officers or engaging in criminal activity in front of them. Copbait is generally not allowed in most FiveM servers.

Chicken Running

Chicken running is the act of running back and forth to avoid bullets during combat. While this can be an effective strategy in some cases, it is generally considered poor sportsmanship and is not allowed in most FiveM servers.

CK and PK

CK refers to character death, which occurs when a player's character dies permanently. PK, on the other hand, refers to a temporary memory loss that occurs after a player's character is killed.

VDM

Vehicle Death Match. It refers to the act of using a vehicle to intentionally run over or ram another player's character.

RDM

Random Death Match. It refers to the act of randomly killing another player's character without any roleplay or valid reason.

Meta Gaming

Using out-of-game information to gain an unfair advantage in-game.

Power Gaming

Forcing unrealistic actions on other players through roleplay to gain an advantage.

Fear Roleplay

Acting realistically based on the situation, even if it means putting your character in danger or risking death.

Scenario Roleplay

Roleplaying a specific scenario or event, such as a bank robbery or car chase.

Real-Life Trading (RLT)

Exchanging in-game items or currency for real money or vice versa.

These terms are crucial to understand if you want to play FiveM effectively and avoid breaking any rules. Aside from these terms, FiveM also has a unique language system called "Do." Do stands for "description of action," and it is used to describe the actions of your character to other players. This system helps to enhance roleplay and make the game more immersive. For example, if you are in a car with another player, you could use the command "/do I turn on the radio" to describe turning on the radio in the car.

Overall, FiveM offers a unique and immersive roleplaying experience. By understanding the rules and terminology of the game, players can have a fun and enjoyable time in this virtual world.
