The Last of Us Part II Remastered Hits PC: A Masterpiece Reborn

After making a strong debut on PlayStation 5 in January 2024, The Last of Us Part II Remastered finally arrived on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 3, 2025. With this release, the masterpiece reaches a broader audience, now with enhanced visuals, deeper customization, and brand-new gameplay modes.

Technical Enhancements for PC

  • Ultra-wide Monitor Support (21:9 and 32:9)

  • Unlocked Framerate

  • Support for NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3, and Intel XeSS

  • Enhanced lighting, shadows, and texture options

These improvements offer a stunningly cinematic and fluid experience, tailored for powerful gaming rigs.

No Return Mode & New Content

The standout feature of the Remastered version is the "No Return" roguelike survival mode. Players control characters like Ellie, Abby, and now even Bill and Marlene, as they face procedurally generated combat scenarios.

Additional content includes:

  • 4 New Maps

  • Difficulty Modifiers & Perks

  • Online Leaderboards

Guitar Free Play & Lost Levels

  • In the Guitar Free Play mode, players can creatively perform songs using Ellie’s guitar.

  • The Lost Levels — three previously cut playable stages — offer a rare glimpse into the game’s development process.

Launch Issues & Fixe

While the PC version launched smoothly for many, the accompanying 2.0 update for PS5 caused issues like missing upgrades and gear progress. Naughty Dog has acknowledged the bugs and is actively working on fixes.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC is not just a port — it’s a complete upgrade that reintroduces the story with refined mechanics and modern enhancements. For both newcomers and veterans of the series, this release is the definitive way to experience Ellie and Abby’s emotional journey.
